markst

An independent credit valuation firm.

markst operates Verus, a deterministic valuation platform for private credit funds, banks and institutional investors. Verus prices books continuously and reproducibly, so the fund’s own valuation officer signs the mark with evidence rather than judgement.

Mehmet Mazi, Founder of markst

Founder · markst

Mehmet Mazi

A senior markets executive with extensive experience across credit, rates, financing and institutional trading. Mehmet spent more than three decades in senior roles at a global bank, where he built and led a global private-credit business within its markets division, before founding markst.

The firm reflects a conviction that private credit valuation requires greater consistency, transparency and methodological discipline, particularly where valuations must stand up to internal governance, auditor review and regulatory scrutiny. Opacity has clouded the reputation of even disciplined operators; markst exists to make that distinction visible again.

What we build — and what we don’t.

Deterministic by construction
No black-box ML in the core pricing engine. Same inputs, same engine version, same outputs — reproducible to the basis point across runs, months and auditors. The methodology is published and versioned; see the methodology page.
Audit-first
Every valuation run carries an immutable audit record with the exact deal version, assumption version, and engine configuration used. A mark run today reproduces to the basis point in any later year, against the engine version that produced it. IFRS 13 / ASC 820 classification is machine-readable on every output.
Reference data included
BSL facilities (production corpus under construction), BDC holdings, FRED rate curves and the Verus spread composite are ingested and versioned inside the platform — not a separate vendor contract. Every mark carries a provenance chain back to the public source.
What we don’t sell
Signed third-party opinions. Bespoke methodology on request. Origination, trading or brokerage. Verus is the engine your valuation officer runs; the fund’s own name is on the mark, and the accountability stays with the fund. When an independent signed opinion is required, we coexist with the advisory firms that provide them — we don’t replace them.
